Scuba Diving Group "Exclusive Divers" was established in 1999 at Cascais, Portugal, by Fabian Reicherdt and Paulo Pinheiro. 10 years later, Exclusive Algarve Scuba Diving was started by Paulo Pinheiro and Paulo Bicho at Hotel Pestana D. João II in Alvor, Algarve, Portugal and integrated into the  Pestana Group. The Alvor Scuba Diving School is situated on Alvor beach and provides a warm, friendly environment that is perfect for learning diving in the Algarve. Languages and cultures intermix and there is always time to discuss the latest news from PADI Portugal as well as the world of scuba diving and diving products, Because Algarve Scuba Diving should be considered more than just a mere hobby, Exclusive Divers have become the proactive force behind several environmental and social awareness movements related to scuba diving in the Algarve and Portugal, including the “Clean Beaches” Campaign and "Project Aware".  This enables Exclusive Diving Algarve to promote good scuba diving practices in the Algarve and Portugal with local socio-economic and cultural groups such as fishermen. We also promote Workshops on Marine Biology and Ecology for young people (10/16 years old) during school holidays. We hold regular seminars on Marine Etho-Ecology in the Algarve and Portugal as well as advising and helping National and International Research Programs and Projects related to diving in the Algarve and Portugal.
